2010: The Adventure Continues
Hello fellow classmates of that magical class of 1970
What significance does the year 2010 have? No, it's not the date that we return to Jupiter, investigate some mystical monolith, or carry on a conversation with a collection of circuits known as HAL. 2010 will mark the 40th anniversary of the date that we all crossed the stage at the Civic Center , received our diplomas, and departed on the great adventure known as life. To quote Jimmy Buffett "Ah, the stories we could tell!"
Several of us are working to provide the opportunity for our class to get together and shoot the breeze, swap lies, tell war stories, or just get reacquainted with those we left so long ago. The forum for this endeavor is, of course, a class reunion. Reunion Dates are 6 & 7 August, 2010. The host hotel will be The Ambassador in Amarillo . They and the attached list of additional hotels have agreed to block out rooms and provide special reunion rates for us. You will need to make your reservations as soon as possible though, 'cause they're not going to hold 'em forever! Be sure and ask for the special PDHS Reunion Rates.
We are working on a list of "lost sheep"; classmates that we have no idea of how to contact. That list will follow quickly, and we need your help to find them. We're (the Imperial We, this poor boy ain't got too much to do with it!) working on a blog site for our class that we will stand up soon. It will offer another forum for you to keep up to date with reunion news, provide input on our "lost sheep", and hopefully be a long term method of staying connected. If you should happen to know anyone of Class of '69 or '71 (or '68 and '72 for that matter) that would like to attend, invite them and get us their contact information (preferably an e-mail address). We'd love the opportunity to share the PDHS celebration experience will all our fellow Dons.
I have attached a tentative schedule of events for your information. We'll have the final schedule out in a couple of places before we start. Everyone mark your calendar, make your plans, and we'll see you there!

Schedule of Events
2010 PDHS 40th Reunion
6 August, 2010
· 5:00-7:00 pm: Registration at The Ambassador Hotel.
· 8:00-11:00 pm: After swinging by Twings, dragging Polk a couple of times, tying up traffic, etc, we'll all meet at Napolis (7th and Taylor) for a pay as you go Eye-talian meal. An inner courtyard has been reserved, and five delicious entrĂ©es will be available.
7 August, 2010
· Morning is free to meet and visit with friends and family. Rendezvous at the reunion registration room at The Ambassador. Lunch is on your own; see if your favorite High School dive is still open and serving the same good (?) food.
· From 2:00 – 3:00pm Palo Duro High School will be open for us to wander the campus. See if you can still locate those places where you always managed to get in trouble, or maybe that special place where you were able to sneak a kiss with that special Don or Donna. (I'm thinking of that corner back by the band room . . .)
· Big Four-Oh reunion activities will kick off at The Ambassador from 7:00pm until . . . .well, probably 9:00 if you're like me. Officially we can hang out until about 12:00 (Curfew at our age?) I'm certain that some of us will be there early, so if you get lonely come on by. I'm sure Beverly will have some last minute decorating to accomplish! We'll start the evening with the fight song, have dinner and a DJ, and end it with our Alma Mater.
· Reunion Cost is $65 per person
· Save the date, reserve your room, and we'll send more info out soon.
